The program is particularly suitable for those who want to fill knowledge gaps, improve in specific areas, or gain new motivation for learning. The lessons take place in small groups with a maximum of 10 people. Experienced boarding school teachers take the time to address individual learning issues and assist in systematically reviewing the material – without the pressure of grades, but with clear learning objectives. You can define an alternative subject in the registration that should be chosen if the selected subject is already taken. In the afternoons, creative, athletic, and nature-related action modules are on the agenda – from tennis, horseback riding, and fencing to art, Just for Girls, or Lego Mindstorms. Additionally, there are joint excursions, sports events, and a visit to an amusement park on Sunday. The summer school regularly has between 135 and 150 participants. So there is definitely a lot happening here with us. According to the participant survey 2024, over 90% of the youth rate the lessons, the leisure program, and the supervision as “good” or “very good.” The small learning groups, the positive learning environment, and the personal support from the teaching and supervisory team are particularly appreciated. The Summer School is the perfect “taster boarding school.” Every year, more than 10 students join us who have previously attended the Summer School and were not yet students with us. There are essentially three groups: firstly, the students who are already at the Kurpfalz boarding school and want to improve in a subject; secondly, our new students who find their first friends at the boarding school during the Summer School; and thirdly, the students who only come to us for the Summer School. However, there is a high “risk of contagion” in the last group, which can lead to a desire to only attend school at the Kurpfalz boarding school. Yes. This is possible in individual cases. However, we only recommend it if you just want to get to know the boarding school. For sustainable academic success in the core subject, we definitely recommend two weeks. No, unfortunately not. We only have the Summer School during the two weeks at the beginning of our summer vacation. Most schools excuse our participants for the last few days when we confirm that they voluntarily attend the Kurpfalz boarding school longer than their classmates at home. In doubtful cases, we are happy to contact the school administration at home. Our experience is that this works very well. Even fifth graders manage it very well because they are fully occupied with us all day and have a lot of fun. Usually, it’s more the parents we like to comfort when their busy child forgets to call home. Trust us and allow your child to have the best days of summer.
