Formulas on the fast track
The math advanced course of the Kurpfalz boarding school quickly moved the class to the go-kart track in Bad Rappenau. Reaction time instead of calculation method – and plenty of driving fun included.
Mrs. Sauerbier was present – but not on the course. “I’d rather handle the photography than the steering wheel!” she said with a smile and made herself comfortable in the spectator area.
The students were all the more motivated for it. Even before the race, there was discussion about who would take first place. The favorites were quickly identified – Lorenz and Finn, who already had experience with go-karting from the summer school.
But as life goes: none of the favorites ended up on the top of the podium. Instead, Pascal, who had been quite modest before, surprised everyone. With a mix of calm driving and technical skill in the corners, he claimed victory – much to the astonishment of the others.
After the race, it was clear: go-karting makes you hungry. So we headed to McDonald’s, where the results were thoroughly analyzed once again – over fries, burgers, and the occasional McFlurry.
Mrs. Sauerbier concluded by saying, “The main thing is that everyone has stayed healthy!”
An excursion full of fun, surprises, and plenty of good cheer – completely without formulas, but with a lot of wind in your hair!
