We see it as an important task to prepare our students for life after a successful school graduation. Therefore, we place special emphasis at Kurpfalz Internat on the development of a professional perspective.

To give our students an impression of what they can expect in their profession or studies, internships, workshops, and informational events are important components of our intensive career orientation program.

We consistently encourage our students to explore their own strengths and interests, try new things, and make informed decisions about their future based on their experiences.
The close collaboration with companies and experts allows them to gain realistic insights into various professional fields. This not only promotes individual development but also helps them to prepare well and confidently plan their next steps after graduation.

Our cross-grade concept for career orientation includes the following focuses:
Early awareness raising
Even at a young age, we sharpen awareness of different professions through playful activities and projects. This is done, for example, through class excursions to scientific workshops (e.g. Experimenta, Coaching4Futur).
Career exploration
Students have the opportunity to explore various professional fields through internships, company visits, workshops, and information sessions offered by educational partners or by participating in the MeisterPOWER competition organized by the Chamber of Crafts. This provides practical insight into potential career paths and helps in discovering personal interests and skills.
Career and study choice preparation
For students preparing for their future, lessons in various subjects and workshops on creating resumes, cover letters, job interviews, and university applications are offered. The KPI also provides assistance in finding suitable training positions or study programs.
Personal development and self-reflection
An integral part of career guidance at KPI is assisting students in identifying their strengths, interests, and values, followed by counseling.
Ongoing consultation and support
The Kurpfalz boarding school offers continuous counseling by professionals in career orientation, experts (e.g., the employment agency), teachers, or boarding mentors to provide support and guidance to students throughout their entire school time. This includes, among other things, individual counseling sessions, career orientation tests, and regular events for planning their professional future. In addition to exam preparation, there is a particular focus on this in the upper grades and in the ninth and tenth grades of secondary school.
