Kurpfalz Boarding School: About Us
Carrier family & management
The Heidelberg family Lehmann stands for individualized support in small classes and a values-oriented boarding school education in its fourth generation. For over 50 years, they have been helping students at the Kurpfalz boarding school to develop their potential and achieve success.
The personal experience that poor academic performance is rarely explained by a lack of intelligence prompted Mrs. Erna Lehmann to establish the private Kurpfalz boarding school in 1961. The first student was her son Helge Lehmann, who took over the management of the Kurpfalz boarding school after successfully graduating from high school and studying psychology, and ran the institution until 2008.
Today, Mario Lehmann, a lawyer and managing director, and his wife Kirsten Lehmann, a high school teacher for German and politics, represent the founding family and bear the responsibility for the Kurpfalz boarding school.
In 1994, the private boarding school Schloss Torgelow was opened as another boarding school of the Lehmann family. It particularly supports high-performing students. Both institutions are now among the most successful boarding schools in Germany.
