Excursion to AZO in Osterburken
After only the economics courses benefited from a visit to AZO in Osterburken in previous years, this year the entire K1 was able to participate in the excursion to our long-standing educational partner.
Together with their teachers Mr. Krämer and Mr. Wiesenberg, the group set off on Monday, March 24, on their way to the Odenwald. After about a one-hour journey, the students were warmly welcomed by Ms. Sabine Zimmermann.
To begin, the participants received an informative overview of the company’s history as well as the diverse product range of AZO. They then split into six groups to get to know different areas of the company more closely. This particularly provided them with the opportunity to experience modern technologies in practical application within a large industrial company.
In the area of “Purchasing,” the focus was on automated order confirmations and interactive exchange processes. The Sales & Service group examined the use of VR technologies from the customer’s perspective. In production, digital solutions for the shop floor were at the center, while the HR department dealt with innovative HR processes. The groups focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Marketing were particularly creative: Here, the students designed their own website and produced short clips for social media platforms.
After the intensive work in the individual groups and a refreshment at the delicious buffet, all participants came together for a joint closing round. Some groups proudly presented their results.
The excursion was perceived as extremely enriching by many participants and received positive feedback overall.
A heartfelt thanks goes to AZO and the Zimmermann family for the warm welcome and the exciting insights into the working world.
We say: See you next year!
