Classes at the Kurpfalz boarding school never have more than 10 students
In classes with no more than TEN students, our dedicated teachers take the time for each individual. Here, everyone can ask questions and everyone is asked. Our teachers explain, review, and are patient. In the individual atmosphere of the small learning group, everyone gets the attention they deserve.

Grammar school and secondary school
At the private Kurpfalz boarding school, we operate a state-recognized grammar school and a state-recognized secondary school with a total of only 170 students. We offer various educational pathways: Abitur in the G8 track, secondary school diploma, and the possibility of transferring to the grammar school after obtaining the secondary school diploma.
Classes in double periods
We teach in double periods. Instead of six to eight subjects a day, our students have only three to four and can focus on what matters most. Our teachers use this attention for a more creative and action-oriented teaching approach that puts the student at the center.
A clear daily structure
Classes, homework, sports, and leisure activities have their fixed place in our daily schedule. With the help of our digital information system, students can access their study materials and appointments at any time. The established rhythm, transparent communication, and clear daily structure help our students to organize themselves.

The future of education and career life is digital. Therefore, it is important to us to prepare our students successfully for digital challenges. That is why we have equipped all classrooms and specialized rooms with digital Cleartouch® displays. In lessons and study time, our students use a managed iPad® as a working tool, which is provided to them free of charge.

The small study groups and the communal living in the boarding school community strengthen the communication skills of our students. They learn to present the results of their work, to give constructive criticism, and to assert themselves successfully.
Our BOARDING SCHOOL — modern and lovable
Our students live in comfortable single or double rooms and can individually design their rooms. Boarding school teachers accompany them with understanding on their journey. Our goal is for everyone to feel at home in the boarding school and to fondly remember their time with us later on.

Push your own limits
At the beginning of each school year, we set our experiential educational highlights. Here, the grade levels face challenges in nature together, which they overcome as a team and with a lot of fun. Older students go on exciting study trips to major cities in Germany and Europe.
Social engagement
In the community of the boarding school, we place great importance on “team play.” Here, everyone must learn that it is important to take social responsibility for others. In the student parliament, as mentors for new students, as project leaders, or as “Blue Lions,” our students take the opportunity to engage with the community.
Always in touch
We see ourselves as partners of the parents. Four assessments a year, which we make available for download in our boarding school management system (IMS), provide guidance for parents and students. Two parent-teacher meetings, as well as direct contact with the management team, teachers, and mentors, ensure a regular flow of information between the boarding school and the family.
Our school psychologist also provides “first aid”
Coming of age is one of the toughest challenges; conflicts and crises are a constant companion for children and adolescents during this time. Our school psychologist, Ms. Lasser, places great importance on providing support and advice to our students and their parents during this period.
The weekend
Anyone who wishes can go home every weekend and spend relaxed days with family. Those who prefer to stay at the boarding school on the weekend can participate in our attractive weekend program, which includes festive meals, outings, sports, and time for creativity.
Small school – short distances
The Kurpfalz Boarding School is a small school with 170 students. Everyone knows everyone, and anyone is approachable. Classrooms, boarding areas, sports facilities, and project rooms are all located on the campus, saving long distances.
Germany’s only boarding school with its own S-Bahn connection
The Kurpfalz boarding school has an ideal transport connection. Nearby the boarding school is the Reilsheim S-Bahn station. The S-Bahn connects the boarding school with the ICE and IC railway stations in Heidelberg and Mannheim. From there, there are excellent connections to all major German cities and to Frankfurt Airport.
Not lonely in the countryside, but in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region
The Kurpfalz boarding school is located at the foot of the “Klein Odenwald,” not far from the major cities of Heidelberg, Mannheim, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart. This gives our students a variety of cultural and sporting opportunities. The municipality of Bammental itself offers all the shops for daily needs, as well as medical practices, an outdoor swimming pool, sports facilities, and plenty of nature.

Kirsten and Mario Lehmann run the private boarding school Schloss Torgelow and the Kurpfalz boarding school in Bammental near Heidelberg, which was founded in 1961, in the third generation with a personal touch.
