Experience MINT: Building solar vehicles at experimenta Heilbronn

On March 31, Class 7a visited the experimenta in Heilbronn as part of the project “I can do MINT!” (MKiD). The aim of the project, funded by the Vector Foundation, is to promote STEM skills in a practical and playful way.

In the workshop “Building a Solar Vehicle,” exactly that was made tangible: using wooden parts, gears, a small motor, and a solar cell, the students constructed their own solar vehicle. In the process, they not only learned about energy conversion and sustainable drive concepts, but also gained practical experience – from soldering to tightening small screws.

Of course, the vehicles were also tested in the end – with great enthusiasm! Afterwards, there was still time to explore the exhibition at experimenta. The many interactive stations, which made science and technology tangible in an exciting way, were particularly popular.
