Sharks on Tour: Exciting Duels at the Team Games Champions League

The Sharks, the winning team of the Kurpfalz Academy, set off for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to compete in the traditional team competition against the Foxes from Schloss Torgelow. to compete. This year, the Foxes had home advantage: they welcomed us with great warmth and a full schedule.

The journey began by train on Friday afternoon. Hardly having arrived, there was not much time: drop off the luggage, quickly change – formal attire was required – and off to the festive three-course meal in the cafeteria. After that, it was time for some disco and a bit of partying before it got serious the next morning.

The competition: 20 games

On Saturday morning, it really got underway. The Sharks suggested ten games, the Foxes ten as well – and each individual game counted. The points system increased with each round: one point for the first game, two for the second – up to the big finale with a significant 20 points.

In sporting challenges, crazy fun games, clever knowledge duels, and surprising skill tasks, both teams engaged in an exciting head-to-head race. The atmosphere was ambitious yet fair, and the stakes were high for both sides.

When the interim results were in on Saturday evening, the Sharks were behind. But instead of frustration, there was camaraderie: a relaxed dinner, followed by an evening in the lounge with a fire pit, bracelet making, and table football – an evening full of laughter, good conversations, and true team spirit before heading into the decisive phase on Sunday morning.

Sunday: Football skills and rule knowledge

On Sunday, the Sharks really stepped up again: They particularly dominated the field in soccer with great effort and technical skill. They also made a statement in an unusual knowledge game: In the referee quiz, short clips from actual Bundesliga matches were shown, and the teams had to decide what decision the referee made in each situation. The Sharks demonstrated strong knowledge of the rules and were able to win the game.

Before the final match, a decisive badminton match, everything was still open. With a victory, the Sharks could have leveled the score. However, the Foxes displayed strength and secured the final 20 points. Thus, the 2025 Cup went to Schloss Torgelow.

Appreciation and team spirit

Team captain Nils was still proud: “A strong performance with a lot of commitment and fighting spirit.”

Mario Lehmann, the patron of the Sharks, also expressed his admiration for the team’s unity, discipline, and sportsmanlike attitude.

We congratulate the Foxes on their well-deserved victory and thank them for a successful weekend overall.
