With the Rhönrad to the boarding school – Maja’s special passion

Not many bring a wheel with them to boarding school. Maja does. Her great passion has accompanied her for many years and originated in Warmbronn, a place where wheel gymnastics is firmly part of village life. Maja has been in the club since she was ten years old. SPVGG Warmbronn is active and has become an integral part of the team.

Even during the interview, she spoke about her sport with sparkling eyes. We immediately realized: This talent is something we want to support. Although wheel gymnastics is not one of our more than 60 extracurricular offerings, we found a solution. Maja trains once a week in Neckargemünd, and on weekends she goes home for training at her hometown club. This way, she can combine school, life in the boarding school, and her passion for sport.

In wheel gymnastics, body tension, arm strength, endurance, and concentration are required. Maja loves exactly that. She has already participated in team competitions, was part of the Germany Cup, and is currently working on incorporating new elements with a higher degree of difficulty into her routine. Her next goal is the so-called giant bridge, an exercise that requires a lot of technique and body control. In competitions, six judges evaluate her routine based on execution and difficulty.

Maja especially loves that you can try so much with the wheel. You can do gymnastics to music, alone or together, be creative, and develop new forms. She wants to pass on this enthusiasm as well. She already holds the trainer license A and plans to offer a trial class for interested girls at the boarding school in the new school year. Perhaps it will even work out during the summer school.

We are very pleased that Maja is part of our community. With a lot of discipline and good time management, she manages to juggle everything. And she shows: those who bring something with passion are allowed to develop it here.
